Caring for Your Ceramics

Most of our pieces are more durable than people expect. They're fired at high temperatures, so they can handle daily use without babying. That said, a few small habits go a long way toward keeping them looking their best for years.

Everything we make is dishwasher and microwave safe, but if a piece has hand-painted or metallic-toned details, we'd suggest washing it by hand just to protect the finish a little longer. A soft sponge and warm water is really all it needs.

The one thing to watch for with any ceramic is sudden temperature swings — going straight from the freezer to a hot oven, for example, can cause cracking. When you're storing pieces, a bit of padding between stacked plates or bowls prevents chips too.
